JAG stands for Jobs for Americas Graduates.  It is a program designed to help students plan for life after high school. JAG-Kansas is entering its third year as a program within the state.

The 2017-2018 school year will mark the 4th year for JAG at Salina West.  Currently we provide services for 51 different schools. JAG is also located in 35 different states and the Virgin Islands. Nationally, we are based in Washington D.C. and work closely with state governors and senators. When it comes to JAG at Salina West, we are focused on students gaining master over the skills needed to be a successful adult.

The core areas of focus are:

    ·         Job attainment

    ·         Job retention

    ·         Leadership skills

    ·         Financial literacy

    ·         College career readiness.

The focus of the program is also on the success of each and every individual student. The thinking of JAG is that a student cannot be successful in life unless they are successful in high school. Graduation and improvements in academics, attendance, and discipline are fully expected of each and every JAG member.

Students are selected for our program because they have the potential to be successful. At the end of the day, that is our main goal and priority!
