At their October 9, 2018 regular meeting, the Salina USD 305 Board of Education set a special meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15 to review the superintendent search timeline and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the process.
At their regular meeting on September 25, 2018, the Salina USD 305 Board of Education approved Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) to assist with the district's superintendent search.
As explained by KASB during their presentation to the board on September 11, the process will involve community input and a timeline that will begin in October with the identification of desired characteristics of the next superintendent.
Dr. James Hardy has served as interim superintendent since July 2017. He will continue to lead the district for the 2018-2019 school year while the board conducts a search for a long-term superintendent. While appreciative of the opportunity to lead USD 305, at the end of this school year Dr. Hardy is looking forward to spending more time with his family.
