• Senior Internships

    Students have the opportunity to participate in semester long internships during their senior year. They can either take a Career or Medical internship. More information on each are below:

    Medical Internships

    Students who are interested in an internship with a health professional should enroll in Medical Internship Rotation.  Students will select three health care areas to experience during this internship. They will have 10 visits at each location. Students must take Medical Investigations I and Medical Investigations II before they take Medical Internship Rotation. Students must provide their own transportation and complete a minimum of 30 internship hours at the work site. Additional assignments will be required by the school sponsor. Applications must be made through the School to Career Coordinator in the spring of the student"s junior year. The School to Career Coordinator and the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce will coordinate placements. Applicants must attend a mandatory meeting in April and complete the required paperwork for next year"s enrollment before school is out in May. A TB test is required. If a student is on attendance probation or has disciplinary issues, he/she may not be approved for an internship.
     

    Career Internships

    Career Internships are one semester community based experiences that are available to seniors. Internships are coordinated through the School to Career program. The School to Career Coordinator and Salina Area Chamber of Commerce will arrange placements.Applications must be made through the School to Career office in April for the following year. Applicants must attend a mandatory meeting and complete the required paperwork for next year"s enrollment before school is out in May. Students will be required to attend their internship, orientations, complete a journal, and other related assignments. The school sponsor in coordination with the community sponsor will evaluate the student. Students MUST provide their own transportation to and from their internship and complete 30 internship hours. If a student is on attendance probation or has disciplinary issues, he/she may not be approved for an internship.
