    1.  maintenance of a library of instructional materials available for checkout;
    2.  maintenance of a professional library (professional books);
    3.  support to staff relative to selection of appropriate materials to meet specific needs;
    4.  maintenance of a file of publisher's catalogs of instructional materials and equipment;
    5.  maintenance of limited amounts/kinds of AV equipment for short term checkout;
    6.  management of classroom equipment and instructional materials inventories;
    7.  storage and management of testing/assessment protocols and instruments.
    Instructional Materials
    SEIMC materials are available for use with any student who has been identified as exceptional and for whom an IEP has been written.  They are available to any CKCIE certified staff involved with the identified students.

    Materials may be checked out for a 9-week period and renewed for an additional 9-weeks if needed.  Staff who have materials checked out will periodically receive a materials list showing the items they currently have and indicating the due date.

    Professional Library
    A professional library is maintained as an informational resource for the CKCIE staff.  It includes books related to early childhood, moderately and severly disabled, learning disabled, hearing and speech, gifted, behavior management, psychology, instructional strategies, transition, technology, inclusion, traumatic brain injury, autism, special education law and other topics.  These resources are ordered under the direction of the program coordinating staff.

    NOTE: Other instructional and professional materials are available through the Smoky Hill Education Service Center and USD 305 Staff Development Office.

    The SEIMC has a limited supply of equipment available for short term checkout.
    The SEIMC maintains a computer-based inventory of all CKCIE equipment and furniture.  Printouts of classroom inventories are available upon request and are sent out periodically for verification.
