Classroom Happenings

May 17th-20th

The last day of school is this Thursday, May 20th.  Please note the early dismissal time of 2pm.

Thank you for a great year!  It's been a true blessing to have your child and family as a part of my life throughout this school year.  I wish you all a safe and relaxing summer!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!  Teacher Appreciation Week was super.  The signed mug is awesome! (What a cool idea.)  Thanks for making me feel extra-appreciated!

Campbell's Welcome - Nourishing people's lives everywhere, every dayWe won the MLR Campbell's Soup Label Challenge!  Our class will be rewarded with a pizza party on the last day of school. (Only plan to send a lunch with your child if they do not like pizza.)  Thanks for sending in all of the labels!

We had a great time at the Health Fair! We learned a lot about how to keep us healthy.

Please remind your child to continue using their Life Skills.  Spring Fever has hit the classroom and we still have a lot of work to do.  Thanks for your support!

The students have been using Study Island.  It's a great way to provide extra practice at home as well.

Thank you to all the families who sent snacks for the class!  It really keeps the tummies from rumbling too much before lunch.

10 REASONS TO READ TO YOUR CHILD

Because when you hold children and give them this attention, they know you love them.

Because reading to children will encourage them to become readers.

Because children's books today are so good they are fun - even for adults.

Because children's books' illustrations often rank with the best, giving them a life long feeling for good art.

Because books are one way of passing on your moral values to children.  Readers know how to put themselves in others' shoes.

Because until they learn to read for themselves, they will think you are magic.

Because every teacher and librarian they encounter will thank you.

Because it's nostalgic.

Because for that short space of time, they will stay clean and quiet.

Because, if you do, they may then let you read in peace.
