The Salina USD 305 Board of Education sponsors several recognition programs throughout the yearYou Make A Difference AwardThe You Make A Difference Award is presented to staff members whose exemplary actions support students, colleagues and the mission of the district. Recipients of these awards receive a lapel pin and a handwritten note personally delivered by a board of education member. Recipients are also announced at board of education meetings, and featured in the Salina USD 305 "Board Briefs."Nominations are accepted September 1 through the last Friday in April of each school year. No awards are presented during June, July and August.Spotlight AwardThe board sponsors Spotlight, a recognition program for students, parents, volunteers, community members and organizations deserving special recognition. Excellence AwardStudents who compete at the state level in co-curricular or extra-curricular events receive a Superintendent's Excellence Award. These are presented during board of education meetings to the participants. The awards are featured in the Salina USD 305 "Board Briefs."Golden Achievement AwardThe Golden Achievement Award honors an individual whose service to Salina USD 305 is meritorious; whose service to education and the education professions has impact on the state or national levels; or whose professional achievement is particularly noteworthy. The award is presented during a board of education meeting, and recipients are featured in the Salina USD 305 "Board Briefs."
