• Section 125

    Health insurance coverage will cover medically related cost, it does not cover unrelated costs such as loss of income, travel, and lodging, time off for spouse or other family member caregivers.

    Cancer and specified disease and heart and stroke insurance coverage is available under the Salina Public Schools Section 125 plan.  These plans pay directly to the insured to offset medically related costs that might not be paid by an employees health insurance.

    Cancer & Specified Disease coverage is offered by AIG (American International Companies)

    Heart & Stroke insurance is offered by Allstate Financial (American Heritage Life)

    Dependant Daycare Expense Reimbursement benefit.  Money is withheld from an employees paycheck prior to taxes, and is placed in an account.  Once an employee incurs a qualifying expense, they turn in a claim form, along with a copy of their receipt to be reimbursed with their un-taxed dollars.  However, if an employee does not use all of their funds within the plan year, the employee forfeits the funds.  Hence, the common phrase Use-It-Or-Lose-It.
