Lifelong Learning Opportunities
Salina Adult Education Center offers a variety of programs to assist adults living in Salina and the surrounding area. GED® preparation, basic education, and English as a Second Language classes are offered at convenient times throughout the week. The Center also serves as a regional GED testing site.
Program Goals
Salina Adult Education Center students are encouraged to set goals. Possible goals include:
• Improving education, technology or workplace skills
• Entering satisfactory employment
• Retaining or improving employment opportunities
• Obtaining a GED®
• Placement in post-secondary education or training
• Achieving citizenship skills
• Increasing involvement in children’s education
• Increasing involvement in children’s literacy
Program Requirements
To be eligible for the Salina Adult Education Center’s programs, a person must:
• Be age 16 or older.
• Not be enrolled or required to be enrolled in school.
• Lack a high school diploma or have a skill level below eighth
grade.
How to Sign Up
Visit the Salina Adult Education Center office to enroll.
Office Hours:
Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon & 1-4 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m.-noon
(Hours will vary in June and July.)
Enrollment
Requirements:
• If 16 or 17, a parent or guardian
• If 16 or 17, compulsory attendance disclaimer forms
(obtained through the school district)
• Materials fee
