Week 12  
Jagodzinske Audrey Jagodzinske is an eighth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. She will participate in school activities next semester by being a member of the orchestra and vocal group. Outside of school, she participates in the youth group praise band at FUMC and also dances at the Salina Community Theatre. Audrey says her good/cool classes at Lakewood Middle are career and life and her orchestra class. Audrey is undecided about her plans after graduating from high school. In her spare time, she likes playing the violin. Audrey says she has two younger sisters.

Harrison Janessa Harrison is a junior at Salina Central High School where she has a 3.9 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of the theatre department. Outside of school, Janessa fills her time babysitting. She says her favorite things about Central High are her theatre class and seeing her friends and making them happy every day. In her spare time, Janessa loves being with her dog named Aria and her cat named Smokey.

Mueller Alex Mueller is an eighth grade student at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the band, the Scholars Bowl and math relays. Alex says his favorite subject at South Middle is math because it is occasionally challenging. After graduating from high school, he plans on attending college to get a PhD in biotechnology. In his spare time, Alex enjoys learning new things.

Cox Gretchen Cox is a senior at Salina South High School where she has a 3.9 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a manager for the football team, being a part of the girls' basketball team and being a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, Gretchen participates in Relay for Life. Gretchen says she enjoys the social atmosphere at South High and everyone is friendly. After graduating from high school, Gretchen plans on attending college but is undecided on which college she will attend but wants to pursue an elementary education major with a minor in special education. Gretchen says she has two cacti named Denise and Gerald.

Week 11  
Rodriguez Mia Rodriguez is a seventh grade student at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the volleyball and basketball team, the Honor Roll and has received the William Allen White reading award 3 years in a row. Outside of school, Mia participates in the summer stage at the Salina Community Theatre (Music Man, Lion King Jr. and Madagascar Jr.) and participates in sports at the YMCA and Parks and Recreation. Mia says she likes all of her teachers at Lakewood but especially likes her math, gym and social studies teachers because they help her improve. After graduating from high school, Mia plans to attend Kansas State and is interested in the medical field. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, sports, acting, hanging out with her friends and traveling to places she has never been. Mia has one brother, 1 sister and a dog named Jojo.

Lobato Sydney Lobato is an eighth grade student at South Middle School. She participates in school activities by being the basketball manager at South Middle. Outside of school, Sydney likes to play softball and participates in the First Covenant Church Youth group. Sydney says her favorite class at South Middle is Mr. McCorkle's math class and FACS class. After graduating from high school, Sydney plans on attending college and becoming an occupational therapist.

Fuller Madelyn Fuller is a senior at Salina South High School where she has a 3.6 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of the band where she has been a member all four years of high school. Madelyn says she really enjoys her Spanish class at South High because she says her teacher, Ms. Adams, is a great teacher who is fun and extremely helpful. After graduating from high school, Madelyn plans to attend Wichita State University on a scholarship to pursue a degree in psychology.

Goldbach Nathan Goldbach is a sixth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Nathan says he is new to Salina but he used to do theatre and play basketball and soccer. He says his favorite subject at Lakewood Middle is math and his favorite activities are track, cross country and wrestling. After graduating from high school, Nathan plans on attending Central High and then the United States Air Force Academy. In his spare time, he likes playing basketball with his dad and playing cards with his mom. He also wants to do theatre. Nathan has 3 brothers and 2 cats.

Morton Ashley Morton is a senior at Salina Central High School where she has a 4.0 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of the theatre, choir and orchestra. Outside of school, she participates in the Tri-M (Music Honor Society). Ashley says her favorite subject at Central High is English because all the English teachers make it fun to learn. After graduating from high school, Ashley plans on attending the University of Kansas in the fall of 2019 with a major in psychology and a double minor in criminal justice and Arabic.

Murray Shadrick Slayton-Murray is an eighth grade student at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being involved in PBIS/HONOR Code celebrations, assemblies, dances and class parties. His favorite thing to do at South Middle is walk with Maddy and listen to country music. In his spare time, Shadrick likes to swim and walk.

Doherty Tyler Doherty is a senior at Salina South High School where he has a 4.0 GPA. He participates in school activities by being a member of the National Honor Society, Kansas Honor Scholar, Youth Entrepreneurial Competition and is the Mentorship & Speech Pathology group leader. Outside of school, Tyler participates in his community by being a part of the Junior Leadership of Salina and volunteering for the Great Plains Manufacturing community/employee events, the United Way and the Special Olympics. Tyler enjoys South High because of his history classes. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend Kansas Wesleyan University to pursue a dual major in accounting and history. In his spare time, he works at the Eaglecrest Retirement Community and enjoys spending time with the residents.

Flaherty Haley Flaherty is an eighth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the tennis team and a peer mediator. Outside of school, Haley participates in softball. Haley says she likes most of the teachers at Lakewood because they are respectful and helpful. After graduating from high school, she plans to attend college to become a teacher. In her spare time, Haley plays fast pitch softball for the Vengeance softball team.

Moore Micah Moore is a freshman at Salina Central High School where he has a 3.5 GPA. He participates in school activities by being a member of the football, basketball and track team. Outside of school, Micah participates in Xcel and St. John's Missionary Baptist Church where he is a member. Micah says his favorite subject at Central is math because he likes working with numbers. He has two sisters, Nicole and Ebony.

Osborn Sophia Osborn is a sixth grade student at South Middle School where she has a 4.0 GPA. She participated in school activities by being on StuCo for 2 years and Stu-Co vice president for one year. She was also part of the P.R.I.D.E. patrol at Heusner Elementary for 4 years. Outside of school, she is the lead in a play at SCT, state finalist at National American Miss pageant and has played on a basketball team for 3 years. Her favorite part about school is meeting different people in each class. After graduating from high school, Sophia is leaning toward becoming a surgeon. In her spare time, she loves art, hiking, biking, playing basketball, acting, playing with her family and loving on her cats.

Samreth Tylyn Samreth is a senior at Salina South High School where she has a 3.80 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of NHS and HOSA. Ty says her favorite class at South High is English because she can fully express herself while having fun. After graduating from high school, Ty plans to attend Wichita State University and pursue a degree in the dental field. Ty says she loves her family.

Week 8  
Wedgewood Riley Wedgewood is a seventh grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Riley hopes to participate in school activities by making the Lakewood basketball team this year. Outside of school, she volunteers for Meals on Wheels and plays basketball for Salina Parks and Recreation. Riley says her favorite classes at Lakewood are PE and science class and her favorite teacher is Ms. Wendt. After graduating from high school, Riley would like to attend Miami Dade College Medical Campus and become an EMT/First Responder. In her spare time, she loves to bake and play with her friends. Riley has a great dane and 3 goldfish.

Hogan Dakota Hogan is a sophomore at Salina Central High School where he has a 3.5 GPA. He participates in school activities by being a member of the baseball and football team at Central High. Outside of school, he participates in his church. Dakota says the teachers are great and the people that come to school everyday make every day a great day at Central High. Dakota says he is a Mountaineer fan.

Putman Landon Putman is a sixth grade student at South Middle School where he has a 4.0 GPA. Outside of school, Landon participates on the Salina Spikes baseball team, Salina Cowboys CKFL football team and WCS Aces MAYB basketball team. He says all of his teachers are awesome at South Middle especially Mrs. Clark. After graduating from high school, Landon would like to attend college at Oregon to play baseball. In his spare time, he likes hanging out with his friends and going hunting and fishing.

Davis Andrew Davis is a senior at Salina South High School where he has a 3.53 GPA. He participates in school activities by being a member of the band and being a drum major. Continuing with his love for band, Andrew says that this is his favorite class. His teacher, Mr. Brooks, makes it entertaining. Andrew has been in band since fifth grade and will continue for a very long time. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend Kansas State University to pursue a degree in computer science. He hopes to join the K-State marching band. Andrew has two dogs at home and his brother is a marine.

Sheppard Ben Sheppard is a sixth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Ben participates in school activities at Lakewood by being involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, he is a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. Ben says he likes school because he gets to hang out with his friends and he likes all of his teachers. After graduating from high school, Ben would like to attend either Kansas State or Kansas Wesleyan University. In his spare time, Ben likes watching movies, spending time with his dog, Poppy, traveling with his family, hanging out with his friends and host brothers from Kansas Wesleyan and jumping on the trampoline. Ben has two brothers, Riley and Grant.

Pittenger Alora Pittenger is a junior at Salina Central High School where she has a 3.85 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of the varsity soccer team, FCA and being a varsity cheerleader. Outside of school, she cheers at Fierce Athletics, participates in her church and she works at Sonic on Santa Fe. Alora says Erin Williams is the best coach and her favorite person at Central High. Alora says she loves being able to make people laugh or smile with simple compliments at school. In her spare time, Alora keeps busy working, attending school and being on two cheer squads. She also keeps her grades up by having straight A's.

Crow Carson Crow is a seventh grade student at South Middle School. Carson participates in school activities by being a member of the cross country team. Outside of school, he plays on a Puma soccer team and swims for the Salina Aquatic Club. Carson says his favorite class at South Middle is science because they get to work on the computer. He says the best part of school is seeing his friends. After graduating from high school, Carson plans to attend college but is unsure where at this time. In his spare time, he loves playing soccer.

Hoge Grace Hoge is a senior at Salina South High School where she has a 4.02 GPA. She participates in school activities by being a member of the cheerleading squad, NHS and has been the co-editor of the Tripodium (school newspaper) for two years. Outside of school, Grace volunteers at Salina Regional in the summer, participates in BBBS, and works as a nurse assistant at Salina Regional Health Center. Grace says she enjoys going to school because of the relationships she has formed with her teachers.  She loves AP Chemistry and Mrs. Chamberlain. After graduating from high school, Grace plans to attend the University of Kansas to major in nursing and minor in News and Information Journalism. Grace's lifelong goal is to become an APRN and work in surgery.

Week 6  
Berkley Leo Berkley is an eighth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Leo participates in school activities at Lakewood by being a member of the jazz band, basketball and tennis teams. His favorite subject at Lakewood Middle is math and being a member of the jazz band. After graduating from high school, Leo would like to attend an Ivy League school and study business. In his spare time he loves playing soccer. Leo says he has a dog named Luna.

Breneman Nicholas Breneman is a senior at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of Central High marching band as well as the drumline. Outside of school, he is currently manager at Pepper Jax Grill. His favorite subject at Central High is band because no matter how his day goes he can always rely on band to make it better. In his spare time, Nicholas enjoys work, school and drumline. He says his friends and family keep him going.

Fischer Josten Fischer is a seventh grade student at South Middle School where she has a 4.0 GPA. Josten participates in school activities by being a member of the cross country and basketball team. She says her favorite subject at South Middle is math because of the problem solving and how it comes natural to her. After graduating from high school, Josten plans to attend college but is undecided on a major at this time. In her spare time, she likes playing soccer. Josten says she has two sisters and two dogs.

Rectenwald Brandon Rectenwald is a senior at Salina South High School where he has a 3.7 GPA. He participates in school activities by being a member of the cross country and track team. He also participates in orchestra. Outside of school, Brandon spends time with the Salina Youth Symphony. Brandon enjoys history class at South High because they discuss how society develops over time and compares the present to the past. After graduating from high school, Brandon would like to attend the University of Kansas and pursue a degree in biological sciences.

Payne Sam Payne is a seventh grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Sam participates in school activities at Lakewood Middle by being a member of the football team. Outside of school, he participated in volunteer work at his church over the summer. His favorite subject at Lakewood Middle is social studies. After graduating from high school, Sam plans on attending Kansas State University where he would like to play golf. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, basketball and all other sports. Sam says he has one dog.

Martinez Aundrea Martinez is a freshman at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by helping to manage the Central High School football team. Aundrea's favorite subject at Central High is Earth Science because she says it is super interesting and so is her teacher. In her spare time, Aundrea loves playing sports especially running. She says she loves hanging out with her mom and her friends.

Nash Giselle Nash is an eighth grade student at South Middle School where she has a 4.0 GPA. Giselle participates in school activities by participating in volleyball. She says she shows leadership by cheering for every point on and off the court. Outside of school, Giselle plays soccer for MCFC in McPherson. She shows leadership by communicating with her team and keeping them in a good mood. Her favorite class at South Middle is sports because it keeps her going and helps her to make the right choices. After graduating from high school, she plans to attend K-State or another college where she can study something in the medical field. In her spare time she likes to play soccer, basketball, volleyball and run track. Giselle says she comes from a family of five kids.

Forrester Tatum Forrester is a senior at Salina South High School where she has a 4.0 GPA. She participates in school activities by being part of the golf and softball team. Tatum is also a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and she is a medical intern. Tatum enjoys South High because of the environment. She says that the teachers are polite and they make it a priority to know their students and speak to them in the hallways. After graduating from high school, she plans to attend Kansas State University to pursue a degree in architecture and interior design. In her spare time, Tatum enjoys spending time with her family and watching sports.

Rose John Rose is a sixth grade student at Lakewood Middle School where he has a 3.8 GPA. John participates in school activities at Lakewood Middle by being a member of the orchestra. Outside of school, he participates in the Salina Youth Symphony. His favorite subject at Lakewood Middle is orchestra because it is a full class. After graduating from high school, John plans on attending either Mid America or K-State. In his spare time, John loves science and reading books.

Gibson

Cheyanne Gibson is a sophomore at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a link leader at Central High. Outside of school, she participates in the S.R.L. All Dog Breed Rescue. Cheyanne says the best part about school is that all of her teachers are amazing. In her spare time, she likes listening to country music.

Tiara Fair is a sixth grade student at South Middle School. Outside of school, Tiara twirls on Shannon's Stars, a national twirling team. She says she tries to be a good role model and mentor to the younger girls. Tiara says the best part about attending South Middle is band class. She says it starts her day. After graduating from high school, she plans to twirl for K-State and study to become a pediatrician.

Renz

Parker Renz is a senior at Salina South High School where he has a 3.5 GPA. He participates in school activities by being part of the golf team, stat tracking for the basketball team and being a participant in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. Parker has qualified for state in golf three times and was selected as a Second Team All-State. Outside of school, Parker has continued his success in golf by qualifying for the Kansas Amateur Golf Championship, participating in the First Tee, coaching for the First Tee and this fall Parker will play in the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach. Parker also has participated in Relay for Life. Parker says he enjoys his supportive teachers at South High like Mr. Harris, Mr. Stuart and Mr. Carlson. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend college to continue his golf career but is undecided on where he would like to go. Parker has one brother, Lucas, and two dogs.

Week 3  

Griffith

Conner Griffith is an eighth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. Conner does not participate in any school sports due to his weight lifting he does 4 days a week. Outside of school, he volunteers for Salina United Way and belongs to First Presbyterian Church and their youth group called God Squad. Conner says he likes his technical education class with Brian Nowak because he gets to create his own creations. He says his wooden tool box won 3rd place at competition. After graduating from high school, Conner would like to be an engineer and attend college where they have a good weight lifting program. Conner is a team member of Salina Reps and Sets Weightlifting Club, has won 5 first place finishes for age and weight and won the Missouri Valley Championship by placing first and getting best lifter. He is also assistant youth coach for the club. Conner has an older brother, Zach; and older sister, Maysem. He also has 3 cats, Mazie, Jinx and Lance.

Elijah Coulter is a seventh grade student at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the cross country team and FCA. Outside of school, he participates in his church youth group. Elijah says his favorite class at South Middle is P.E. because he is athletic. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend college and play baseball in college. In his spare time, he likes to play the Rubic's cube and says he can solve the cube. Elijah has three dogs.

Thompson

Seth Thompson is a senior at Salina South High School where he has a 4.14 GPA. He participates in school activities by being the swimming team's co-captain and being a mathlete. Seth is also a Relay for Life committee member and is the Stuco Vice-President. Seth enjoys school because of the great atmosphere that the teachers provide at South High. Seth says his favorite subject is calculus. After graduating from high school, he plans to attend Washburn University and pursue an accounting degree. In his spare time, Seth plays the guitar, piano and trumpet. He has also traveled to 26 different states.

Kaytlyne Hamm is a sixth grade student at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by participating in band and music at Lakewood Middle. Outside of school, she plays softball for Fusion and serves at her church. Kaytlyne says one of her favorite teachers is Mr. Boggs because he is very straight forward and kind. After graduating from high school, Kaytlyne plans on attending KU School of Nursing.

Ethan Brown is a junior at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the student council for three years and vice-president of his class the past two years. He is also a thespian, enjoys being in choir and likes to emcee pep rallies at Central High. Outside of school, Ethan is the Youth on Board member of the Accessibility Advisory Board for the City of Salina, is on the leadership team for his church youth group and he volunteers for his church's Vacation Bible School. He is also studying Spanish and has gone on two mission trips to Central and South America. Ethan says he really likes the teachers and students at Central High and he also has great classes. He appreciates the rich tradition that can be found at Central. Ethan says he has the best service dog ever. This is the 6th year she has attended school with him.

Luis E. Moreno is an eighth grade student at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being on the wrestling team and participating in art and technical education. Outside of school, he is a member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Boxing Club. Luis says his favorite staff member is his paraeducator, Mr. Mark, and his favorite class is Mrs. Lee's art class. He says he is also good at math and science. After graduating from high school, Luis would like to be an art teacher. In his spare time, he likes to run and participate in boxing and wrestling. He says he enjoys drawing, too. Luis has one dog.

Bailey Weber is a junior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the softball and basketball team. Outside of school, she participates in the Catholic Youth Organization, also known as CYO. Bailey says her favorite part about school is seeing her friends and she especially enjoys her favorite class, AP US History, because of her love for history and her teacher, Mr. Harris, whom she says is humorous. After graduating from high school, Bailey will be attending college but is undecided where at this time. She would like to pursue a degree in child psychiatry.

Wood

 

Kira Wood is a seventh grade student at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by participating in the band where she plays the flute, cross country and is a peer mediator. Outside of school, Kira is active in her church youth group. She says she really likes the teachers at Lakewood and they each have a unique way of teaching. She also enjoys participating in band and cross-country competitions. After graduating from high school, Kira plans to attend Brigham Young University-Idaho and study to become an elementary education teacher. In her spare time, she likes running, playing basketball, reading, playing the flute and  babysitting. Kira is the oldest of 4 sisters.
Daughter of Christopher and Nashelle Wood

Thomas Jere' Thomas is a senior at Salina Central High School. He particpates in school activities by participating on the football and track team. He is also the link leader where he welcomes the freshmen to Salina Central. Outside of school, Jere' led a group of teens on a mission trip to Mexico to build a house for a family in need. Jere' says he likes the teachers at Salina Central. He says they have all been great and pushed him to do more in life and he wants to be a positive impact in the world. In his spare time, Jere' likes playing sports and hanging with the guys! He would like to give a shoutout to Coach Mike Hall for being a positive role model in his life.
Son of Amber Burge
Aranda Adrian Aranda is an eighth grade student at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being the StuCo class president for three years and a member of the orchestra. Outside of school, he participates in the Salina Symphony and Sacred Heart Choirs. Adrian says the best part about South Middle is all the electives they can choose from, especially advanced guitar where he says Mr. Gerry makes it very fun and competitive. After graduating from high school, he plans to have his basic classes done and start on his career. He either wants to major in music or become a surgeon. Adrian says he is the youngest in his family. He has three sisters, one brother and a dog.

Hernandez Angelica Carrillo Hernandez is a senior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being a Link Leader and also studies CNA at Central High. Angelica says she loves school and English is her favorite subject and Mrs. Hurley is her favorite teacher because she taught her English. After graduation, Angelica plans to pursue a post-secondary CNA certificate along with attending college to receive a Psychology degree. In her spare time, Angelica will volunteer at her brother's school, Coronado, to help with activities. She also enjoys watching football games and is proud to be an ESL student.
