Salina USD 305 Chromebook InitiativeDear Parent,
As of August 2014, all Salina High School students receive a Chromebook for each school year. The Chromebooks provide high school students in USD 305 with access to a vast array of online resources. They offer opportunities to collaborate, communicate, create and apply critical thinking skills to their learning.Chromebook information is found on the left hand side of this page where you can locate the following documents:
- Chromebook Handbook, en Español (Chromebook Loan Agreement is in the handbook.)
- Frequently Asked Questions, en Español
- Board Policies: IFA, (1-to-1 Chromebook) and IIBG (Acceptable and Ethical Use of Technology)
As in the case with school equipment such as textbooks, music instruments, etc., you are responsible for any cost associated with the damage and/or loss of the device. You are also responsible to return the device in good working order. This information is explained in the Chromebook Handbook. Please be aware that for high school students, the textbook rental fee is now $100 (sliding scale still applies).
Every student will have a Chromebook which is necessary as a part of our plan to further integrate technology into the learning process. This is why no student will be allowed to opt out of receiving a Chromebook. In addition, Chromebooks are critical to impact the learning that can and will occur outside of our normal 7:45 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. school day.
Thank you for your support of this important learning initiative. If you have questions please contact your high school office:
