Gary Seibel, a 1990 graduate of Fort Hays State University, has been head coach of the Cougars since 2005 and has coached wrestling since 1990. Past experience includes 6 years assistant coaching at Plainville (KS) High School, 2 years assistant coaching here at South, and 7 years as head coach at South Middle School.
Coach Seibel, his wife Terri (a South High & FHSU alum and Salina realtor) and their 3 children (Emily, Jason, & Madison) have lived in Salina since 1996.
Coach Seibel's other duties include teaching Woodworking and Computer Aided Drafting; Math, Science and Engineering Pathway lead teacher and coaching Cougar Football.

Returning to the Cougar coaching staff this year is Rule 10 Coach Jeremy Magee. Coach Magee is a Salina South alum, graduated in 1997 and wrestled for Coach Warkentine. Jeremy earned all-state status at #215 his senior year placing 6th at the 5A state tournament in 1997. Jeremy is employed by USD #305 and works on the South High maintenance staff. Coach Kanean Wendell also returns to the Cougar coaching staff this year and comes from Beloit. Coach teaches Science at SHS and coached football as well this season.
