Award Programs
The Salina USD 305 Board of Education sponsors several recognition programs throughout the year. Staff members nominate their colleagues by using nomination forms located in Shareportal.
Teacher Appreciation Award
The Teacher Appreciation Award honors Salina Public Schools teachers who do many things – often unnoticed – that positively affect our students and school community. This award recognizes teachers for the creative ways they support, motivate and encourage a lifetime of learning, in and out of the classroom. Employees of SPS may nominate district teachers for this award.
Classified Staff Appreciation Award
Employees of SPS may nominate a great classified staff member for a monthly award! Thanks to sponsor Nex-Tech, winners receive a $50 gift card. Other recognition includes a certificate of appreciation and feature on social media.
The Classified Staff Appreciation Award honors employees who keep our schools running smoothly, are often the first point of contact for parents and visitors and those who work behind the scenes to keep school facilities sanitary and secure.
You Make A Difference Award
The You Make A Difference Award is presented to staff members whose exemplary actions support students, colleagues and the mission of the district. Recipients of these awards receive a lapel pin and a handwritten note personally delivered by a board of education member. Recipients are also announced at board of education meetings, and featured in the Salina Public Schools "Board Brief." Employees of SPS may nominate any coworkers in the district for this award.
Spotlight Award
The board sponsors Spotlight, a recognition program for students, parents, volunteers, community members and organizations deserving special recognition. If you would like to nominate someone for this award, please contact the director of communications for additional information.
Superintendent's Excellence Award
Students who compete at the state or national level in co-curricular or extra-curricular events receive a Superintendent's Excellence Award. These are presented during board of education meetings to the participants. The awards are featured in the Salina Public Schools "Board Brief."
Golden Achievement Award
The Golden Achievement Award honors an individual whose service to Salina Public Schools is meritorious; whose service to education and the education profession has impact on the state or national levels; or whose professional achievement is particularly noteworthy. The award is presented during a board of education meeting, and recipients are featured in the Salina Public Schools "Board Brief."
