CTE and Postsecondary Opportunities

career explorations graphic

Career and Technical Education (CTE) students connect classroom learning with real-world skills, preparing them for success in college, careers, and life. Through hands-on courses and career exploration opportunities, students discover their interests, develop technical expertise, and gain valuable experience in high-demand industries. Our CTE programs help students build a strong foundation for the future—whether they choose to continue their education, enter the workforce, or pursue specialized training after graduation.

What is a Career Pathway?

A career pathway is a structured sequence of courses and experiences that help prepare students for postsecondary plans. You can think of it like a step by step guide that shows the way from learning in the classroom to working in the real world.
It usually starts with exploring different jobs and interests in elementary and middle school, and leads to taking specific courses or training programs in high school that align with those interests. Along the way, students have the opportunity to earn certificates, take college courses, and get real work experience- all to help prepare them for post secondary success.
