Superintendent's Report

Linn Exline, superintendent of schools, attended many of the same meetings that board members noted. She joined Zoom staff meetings for both Heusner Elementary and South Middle School in order to announce the District’s Teachers of the Year for 2021; Megan Pommer, 6th grade English & reading teacher at South Middle School and JaNae Basinger, 5th grade teacher at Heusner Elementary School. Superintendent Exline reported that three elementary schools received Challenge Awards from the Kansas State Department of Education for notable improvements in student achievement. She informed the board that the district is preparing a family and staff survey about the online learning. Thoughtexchange will collect data from three simple steps. Participants will answer a question confidentially, then read and rate others’ answers and review and learn what others are saying and how the comments are rated.
