Superintendent’s Report

Linn Exline, superintendent, reported that all secondary students will return to full-time, on-site school on April 1. This decision was based upon teacher input and the natural break in students’ schedules. April 1 is the beginning of the fourth nine-week period for high schools. The district is working on finalizing bussing and lunch plans as well as safety protocols in the buildings. The district’s deliberate approach has provided stability and predictability for families. Superintendent Exline reported that she met with Salina Area Technical College (SATC) personnel to advance the transfer of property from USD 305 ownership to SATC ownership. She reported that the new PolyCATS Academy, a partnership with K-State Polytechnic, more than triples dual credits available to USD 305 students. She shared that she toured 1 Vision Aviation and learned about the new enterprise in Salina. Along with Lisa Peters, executive director of business, she continues presenting to Site Councils to review budget, the state of the school district and what is next at USD 305.
