Approve Bid

The board of education approved the bid of Geisler Roofing & Home Improvement in the amount of $232,146 for replacing part of roofing at South High School.

Superintendent Search Firm

The board of education approved Kansas Association of School Boards to assist the district in its search for the next superintendent of schools.

Superintendent's Report

Dr. James Hardy, superintendent of schools, reported that the Equity Council is building capacity and working on a survey for staff and students. Dr. Hardy thanked Eric Wiley, Salina Journal reporter, for attending and reporting on the Salina Education Foundation annual breakfast. Dr. Hardy attended the KESA District Leadership Team meeting and shared that he was informed that teacher transition programs are growing and that the number of teachers graduating from college has fallen to a low.
