Week 12

 

Parker Stansberry








 

Parker Stansberry is a seventh grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the Lakewood Middle School cheerleading squad. Outside of school, she participates on the Revolution School of Dance competition team. Parker says her favorite teacher is Ms. Collins because she makes math class fun. After graduating from high school, she plans on attending college to become a pediatrician. Parker says she has 3 pets: 2 German Shepherds, Maverick and Koda, and 1 cat named Bonxs.

Macie Wisbey









 

Macie Wisbey is a freshman at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the band, debate, track and basketball teams. Outside of school, she volunteers at the Smoky Hill River Festival. Macie says her favorite class is French because she has a lot of friends in her class. She says she also loves Ms. Corcoran and the way she teaches her advanced class. After graduating from high school, Macie plans on majoring in veterinary science but is unsure where she will attend college at this time. In her spare time, Macie says she enjoys longboarding, baking and cooking. She has two sisters, one of them being her twin, and a cat named Barnabas.

Ambrose Dalme










Ambrose Dalme is a sixth grader at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by playing the trombone in the band at South Middle. Outside of school, Ambrose participates in Jr. Cougars football and plays baseball for the  Salina Kings. He says he likes to learn about history and social studies and that all of his teachers are his favorites.  After graduating from high school, his plans are to attend K-State to become an engineer. Ambrose says that one day he would like to explore the ocean to discover old shipwrecks.

Brooklyn Needham








 

Brooklynn Needham is a senior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the Cougar volleyball team and the girls' soccer team. Brooklynn says her favorite thing about South High is Mr. Harris' class because he is super funny, talks about current news and she looks forward to his class. Outside of school, she is involved with the New Community Church youth group and pastor search. Brooklynn works at Carlos O'Kelly's as a server and loves watching baking shows. Brooklynn is currently undecided on her plans after graduation.

Olivia Murphy








 

Olivia Murphy is an eighth grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the volleyball team. Outside of school, Olivia participates in soccer, volleyball and softball. She says her favorite subject at Lakewood Middle is science because she has friends in that class. After graduating from high school, Olivia plans on attending college but is unsure where at this time.

Emma Rodine









 

Emma Rodina is a sophomore at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the FCCLA-Co-President, HOSA (Miss Tvain's Future Healthcare Worker Club), and she also participates in track and field. Outside of school, Emma participates with the kids' ministry at her church and helps with camps in the summer. She says she loves both her sports medicine and nutrition and wellness class because medical science fascinates her. After graduating from high school, Emma says she wants to pursue a career in the medical field. Right now she's considering being a child life specialist or a high school medical science teacher. In her spare time, Emma enjoys boxing and being outside, especially with her friends. She says she loves being around people and helping them if they need it.

Paityn Fritz










Paityn Fritz is an eighth grader at South Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the volleyball, basketball and track team. She also participates in working on the yearbook. Outside of school, Paityn helps with the concession stands at softball tournaments. She says she loves playing sports for South Middle and she also likes the lunch ladies. She is planning on playing softball, basketball and volleyball in high school. After graduating from high school, Paityn says she wants to attend college but is unsure where at this time.

Jana Bray








 

Jana Bray is a senior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being a culinary intern, FCCLA officer and a member of National Honor Society. Jana says she loves all of her teachers and all that they do for her, especially Ms. Edson and Mrs. Chamberlain and their encouragement to explore the world of food science and push her to explore unique post-secondary studies. Outside of school, Jana participates in the youth group at First Southern Baptist Church and loves to bake cupcakes and share them with others. After graduating from high school, Jana plans to attend Kansas State University to study Bakery Science and Business Management.

Kevin Martinez








 

Kevin Martinez is an eighth grader at Lakewood Middle School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the basketball team. Kevin also plays the tenor saxophone in the band. He says his favorite thing about school is his teacher, Mr. Bradshaw, because he makes the class fun. After graduating from high school, he plans on attending college somewhere and becoming successful. In his spare time, Kevin likes to play basketball with his friends after school and spend time with his family.

Mya McGreevy









 

Mya McGreevy is a junior at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the orchestra where she plays the string bass. Mya says the best part about school is seeing her friends and her favorite subject at Salina Central is English. After graduating from high school, she plans on attending college but is unsure where at this time but her plans are to become a teacher. Mya says she is an only child.

Summer Davis










Summer Davis is a seventh grader at South Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the track team in the spring. Summer also participates in the gifted class. Outside of school, she participates in youth group and the soccer team. Summer says she really likes physical education class at South Middle because she gets to play sports and be active while getting a break from her desk. After graduating from high school, she would like to attend K-State University and study to become a veterinarian and play soccer there. In her spare time, Summer likes to play soccer, rock-climb, swim, read and be outdoors. She attends youth group every Wednesday and has three siblings.

Aidan Heusman








 

Aidan Heusman is a senior at Salina South High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the New Dawn and he is also a drama club officer. Aidan says he enjoys science, theatre and the community of South High led by Mr. Massey, Mr. Creer and Ms. Lindsay. Aidan says he and some peers meet twice weekly for creativity and conflict resolution exercises. Outside of school, if he is not hanging with friends or doing theatre, he is sleeping or working and encourages everyone to eat at Olive Garden and tip well. After graduating from high school, Aidan plans on attending Hutchinson Community College for two years before transferring to Wichita State.

Alex Kelley








 

Alex Kelley is a seventh grader at Lakewood Middle School. He participates in school activities by being an art role model. Alex says the best thing about school is learning new things that can help him with his future. He says he also likes all of his teachers at Lakewood Middle. After graduating from high school, he plans on attending college but is undecided where as of now. In his spare time, Alex says he likes to try new things. He says he has a dog named Daisy and one sibling.

Mason Gary









 

Mason Gary is a senior at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the football and baseball teams. He also participates in Student Council at Central High. Outside of school, Mason participates in First Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Manor and is also a senior living volunteer. Mason says he likes being with his friends everyday at school and making long-lasting bonds with his teachers. After graduating from high school, he wants to attend college to study pre-med or pre-dental but is undecided where at this time. In his spare time, Mason likes to play sports and hang out with friends and family.

Agustin Ramos










Agustin Ramos is a sixth grader at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by donating money to charity (school related) and participating in a school fundraiser selling candy. Agustin says he loves school because he likes to learn, meet new people and he likes all his teachers. After graduating from high school, Agustin plans on attending college and his dream job is to be an architect. In his spare time, Agustin likes to spend time with his family, read and spend time learning from his dad.

Hayden Chamberlain








 

Hayden Chamberlain is a senior at Salina South High School. He is a four-year member of the Cougar boys' soccer team. Hayden says he enjoys attending South High and hanging out with his friends, his AP history classes and going to soccer practice. Outside of school, he has been involved with the Friends of the Smoky Hill River. After graduating from high school, Hayden plans to attend the K-State Aerospace and Technology Campus in Salina to study UAS flight operations.

Eliana Williams








 

Eliana Williams is a seventh grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the basketball team. Outside of school, Eliana is a member of the Tamara Howe School of Dance, Higher Praise youth group and XCEL. Eliana says the best part about school is seeing her teachers and her best friends every day. After graduating from high school, she wants to attend KU and get a degree in astronomy and dance. In her spare time, Eliana likes ballet, basketball, drawing and playing the violin.

Zavin Patrick









 

Zavin Patrick is a student at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the football and track team and a member of the choir. Outside of school, Zavin participates in cooking biscuits and gravy for his church the first Sunday of every month. Zavin says Mr. Dow is his favorite teacher because he is nice and understanding. After graduating from high school, he plans on attending K-State for engineering or a technical school for welding or mechanics. Zavin says she has two dogs named Rambo and Colby.

Tam Tran










Tam Tran is an eighth grader at South Middle School. Tam says the best part about school is seeing her friends every day. She says she also enjoys the teachers aide class because she gets to help others. After graduating from high school, she plans on attending college but is unsure where at this time. In her spare time, Tam enjoys drawing and doing art. She says she has 1 big sister.

Laura Brucker








 

Laura Brucker is a senior at Salina South High School. At South High, she is a member of the Cougar girls' tennis team, an orchestra section leader, President of National Honor Society, a Link Leader, a member of FCCLA and a member of HOSA. She enjoys the wide diversity of people, ideas and activities at South High which allows students to become unique individuals. Outside of school, Laura is a section leader for the Bethany Orchestra, fosters kittens for the Salina Animal Shelter, has volunteered with blood drives, the Love, Chloe Foundation and the Salina Art Center. After graduation, Laura plans to attend Heartland Community College for general education classes before transferring to Illinois State University.

Kevia Pennyfeather








 

Kevia Pennyfeather is a sixth grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the orchestra and robotics team. Outside of school, Kevia participates in Girl Scouts. She says her favorite part about school is her physical education class, robotics class and Mr. Black. After graduating from high school, Kevia would like to become an architectural engineer. Kevia says she has a dog named Theo and she is from Antigua.

Azbey Peckham









 

Azbey Peckham is a sophomore at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the basketball team and the swimming team. She also participates in the Scholar's Bowl and the Student Council. Outside of school, Azbey plays basketball and likes to swim. She also participates in her church youth group. She says her favorite class at Central High is Dr. Werth's English class. After graduating from high school, Azbey plans on attending college out-of-state somewhere.

Jesus Delgado










Jesus Delgado is an eighth grader at South Middle School. He participates in school activities by being on the basketball, football, wrestling and track team. He says one of his roles is keeping everyone on track. Outside of school, Jesus participates in ministering at the church he attends and delivering bread and water to those who couldn't attend that Sunday. Jesus says he likes the people at school and his favorite subjects are math and physical education and his favorite teacher is the wrestling coach, Mr. Curry. After graduating from high school, Jesus would like to attend the University of Oregon to play football and start his career. After he gets his bachelors degree, he will be attending medical school. In his spare time, Jesus likes to play disc golf. He says he has a brother who is 6 and a sister who is turning 2.

Izaac Leonard








 

Izaac Leonard is a senior at Salina South High School. He is a captain on the Cougar cross country team and a member of First Covenant Church. Izaac says he enjoys the variety of staff and facilities at South High that help him perform to the best of his ability. He says he most values his family and his independence. Izaac is currently undecided on his plans after graduation, but narrowing down his interests and would like to attend college on a scholarship.

Deliliah McWhorter








 

Deliliah McWhorter is a sixth grader at Lakewood Middle School. Outside of school, she is a Kansas Be Strong student representative and donates her spare time to the Love Chloe Foundation. Deliliah is also on the Salina Burn and the Kansas Flyers track teams. She says she likes the Lakewood Middle School community because it is very welcoming and her favorite subject is English. After graduating from high school, Deliliah hopes to run cross country and track at Friends University while she gets her undergraduate degree then she wants to attend KU for her medical degree in pediatrics. In her spare time, Delilia says she loves to run and she runs 5Ks competitively.

Week 6 - Titus Shafer









 

Titus Shafer is a junior at Salina Central High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the cross country and track team. He is also a member of the chess club. Titus says he enjoys his AP Physics class and his engineering class with Mr. Hair. He says cross country is also a great ending to his school day. After graduating from high school, he plans on attending college but is unsure where at this time. In his spare time, Titus enjoys playing video games. 



Abigail Kitchen










Abigail Kitchen is a seventh grader at South Middle School. Abigail says she hopes to participate in basketball soon. She says she really likes guitar and science class at South Middle because they are fun and the teachers are really nice. After graduating from high school, she hopes to graduate with good grades and get a degree in business from Kansas State University. In her spare time, Abigail likes spending time with her friends, family and pets.

Iliana Armbrust








 

Iliana Armbrust is a senior at Salina South High School. She is a member of the Cougar girls' tennis team, an orchestra section leader, National Honor Society member and competes with math relays. Iliana is also active at The Pines Tennis Club. She says she loves the AP teachers and classes at South High because they are well taught and intellectually challenging. Iliana appreciates the amazing tennis program at South High that has led to her success the past four years, including a third place finish at state doubles in 2020. After graduation, she plans on attending Kansas State University to study chemical engineering.

Gabe Martinez








 

Gabe Martinez is an eighth grader at Lakewood Middle School. Outside of school, he participates in XCel. Gabe says the best part about school is his digital literacy class at Lakewood Middle. After graduating from high school, his plans are to attend college but he is unsure where at this time. In his spare time, Gabe likes to hang out with his friends and go fishing.

Katelyn Botz










 

Katelyn Botz is a senior at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the cheer team, book club, environmental club, National Honors Society and a member of the track team. Her leadership roles include being a student council representative and cheer council member. Outside of school, Katelyn participates in the First United Methodist Church of Salina youth group and the Girl Scouts of America. Katelyn says she loves making art projects in Mrs. Dykes' 3-D art class. After graduating from high school, she plans on getting her history education degree from Kansas Wesleyan University then attending Emporia State University to earn her Masters of Library Science. In her spare time, Katelyn enjoys reading, writing, playing video games and hanging out with her cats, Smokey and Bandit. Katelyn has 2 siblings, Alex and Oriana Botz.

Week 5 - Kynlie Payan










Kynlie Payan is a sixth grader at South Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the band where she plays the piano and she is a member of the Character drawing club. Kynlie says she likes band and English at South Middle and says Mr. Andres is cool! Kynlie says she's not for sure what she wants to do after graduating from high school, but she wants to do something with art and music that will make her happy. In her spare time, Kynlie says she likes to draw and loves music. She has three siblings and a dog named Bruno.

Baylee Brin








 

Baylee Brin is a junior at Salina South High School. She is a member of the Cougar volleyball and softball teams, a wrestling manager and a member of the writing center. Her favorite subject is math and her favorite teachers at South High are Mr. Harris and Mr. Lynn. Outside of school, Baylee plays club volleyball, club softball and is a server at Carlos O'Kelly's. She enjoys spending time with her friends and listening to music, especially her favorite band, The Beach Boys. After graduation, Baylee intends to study to become an accountant.

Thomas Payne








 

Thomas Payne is an eighth grader at Lakewood Middle School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the football, basketball and track team. Outside of school, Thomas participates in First Presbyterian Church youth group and is a counselor at Hartland Bible Camp. Thomas says what he likes about school are the teachers on his team because they are nice and always help him when he needs it. His favorite class is technical education because he enjoys the hands-on work that it gives and he likes working with woods and metals. After graduating, Thomas would like to play basketball while attending Kansas State University and major in pre-med to become a general surgeon. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball with his friends, swimming, watching shows and playing games with his family at night. Thomas has a brother, Sam; sister, Ella; and a dog named Oliver.

Olivia Owings










 

Olivia Owings is a freshman at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the cheer and debate team. She will also be performing in One Acts. Outside of school, Olivia participates in the Salina Aquatics Club. She says the best part about school is seeing her friends and attending her advanced English class because it allows her to think deeper. After graduating from high school, Olivia would like to attend the University of Hawaii and study either biology or journalism.

Elsie Boyles










Elsie Boyles is a sixth grader at South Middle School. Outside of school she participates on the Salina Sidewinders softball team and is a company dancer at Stepz Dance Company. Olivia says the best part about school is her science class with Mrs. Cooper and she also enjoys Ms. Moon helping her with homework after school. Elsie says she has a cat named Gizmo and a dog named Beau.

Danica Dixson is an eighth grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the band at Lakewood Middle. Danica says her favorite subject at school is technical education. She says she also enjoys doing art. After graduating from high school, Danica plans on attending college.

Ava Sanders is a sophomore at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the debate team at Central High. She says her favorite subjects at Central High are math and art.

Kinsleigh Showman









Kinsleigh Showman is a seventh grader at South Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the cheer team and is the junior vice president in Stuco. Outside of school, Kinsleigh is playing the cat, the villain, in the musical Honk! Jr. She says she enjoys her music class with Mrs. Gogadi because she is a super fun teacher (she even wore a banana costume to class) and she helps her a lot. After graduating from high school, Kinsleigh is planning to attend NYU to possibly major in acting. In her spare time, she loves doing art and watching Netflix. Kinsleigh says she has a love for theater.

Zoe Norton






 

Zoe Norton is a senior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being a leader on the Cougar golf team and a member of the National Honor Society. She loves competing on the golf course with her teammates and has enjoyed her AP Chemistry and AP Physics classes due to her love of science. Outside of school, Zoe helps coach with the First Tee program to help kids become leaders through the game of golf. After graduation, she plans on attending Kansas State University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Zoe is a sister to Parker Norton.

Harper Turpin








 

Harper Turpin is a seventh grader at Lakewood Middle School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the volleyball team. Outside of school, Harper participates in Catholic Charities. She says her favorite class at Lakewood Middle is social studies and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Byarlay because she is funny. After graduating from high school, Harper wants to play sports in college.

Harper Johnston










 

Harper Johnston is a junior at Salina Central High School. She participates in school activities by being a member of the Choir - Free Spirit and Choraliers, orchestra, theatre - treasurer of the executive board of Troupe 639, shows, classes, volunteer work at SCT and Junior class president. Harper says she loves the arts programs at Central. She says all of her involvement in fine arts is what keeps her happy and motivated. After graduating from high school, Harper says she would love to go to college to become a teacher or professor.

Sydney Shaw









Sydney Shaw is an eighth grader at South Middle School. Outside of school, Sydney says she likes to help out with Salina Shares, a local non-profit organization owned by her mom and friend. She says she also has an upcoming event to donate to Salina Shares. Sydney says she loves coming to school to see her friends and Mr. Davis, who is one of her favorite staff members. After graduating from high school, Sydney would like to become a storm chaser or restore old run down homes. She would also like to attend beauty school to study cosmetology. In her spare time, Sydney says she likes doing gymnastics and she loves animals. She says she has two households and 12 pets total.

Zachary Davidson









 

Zachary Davidson is a senior at Salina South High School. He participates in school activities by being a member of the South High Cougar football, basketball and baseball teams and is on student council, math relays and National Honor Society. Zach has enjoyed having Mrs. Chamberlain, Mr. Ebert and Mr. Harris as teachers as their classes made him look forward to coming to school every day. Outside of school, he has volunteered at blood drives, Relay for Life, Ashby House, the Food Bank, youth sport camps and church groups and services. He also enjoys lifting and chocolate milk. After graduation, Zach plans on attending an undecided college at this time to work toward a degree in either the medical field or business. Zachary is also brother to Alex and Zoe Davidson.

Angel DelReal is a seventh grader at Lakewood Middle School. Outside of school, Angel participates at his church. He says he enjoys history class at Lakewood Middle because of the activities they do in Mr. MacKinney's class. After graduating from high school, Angel plans on attending college but is unsure where at this time. In his spare time, Angel enjoys reading and gaming.

Damian Chronister is a senior at Salina Central High School. He participates in the Boy Scout program and he says he is about to get his Eagle. Damian says he likes Pbd at Central High because it's up to him when he finishes. After graduating from high school, Damian plans on attending KU to study in the medical field for use later on in life.

Calli Simmons









Calli Simmons is a seventh grader at South Middle School. Calli says she hopes to play basketball this year. She says the best part about school are her friends and learning new things. Calli says she also enjoys physical education class. After graduating from high school she would like to proceed into the music/art field. In her spare time, Calli likes drawing, riding four-wheelers and camping with her family, She says her hobbies are music and playing the guitar and piano.

Lauren Stein is a senior at Salina South High School. She participates in school activities by being the South High Peppers team captain, Student Council chairperson of community involvement and a member of National Honor Society. Lauren dances at Renee's Dance Academy and volunteers with Relay for Life. She likes being able to see all of her friends everyday at school and enjoys Mr. Harris' history class. After graduation, Lauren plans on attending college but is currently undecided on where. Lauren is a sister to Cole and Leah Stein.
