
Salina Public Schools recognized the dedication and service of retiring faculty and staff members on Sunday, May 1 at Lakewood Middle School. Family, community and colleagues came together to honor the collective 739 years of service to Salina Public Schools the 2022 retirees represent.
Retiring staff members recognized include Amy Usher, Ann Buresh, Becky Donelan, Brenda Schoel, Carol Knott, Cathryn Wenthe, Cathy Whitehair, Cindy Will, Diana Matteson, Jan Bergman, Julie O'Donnell, Linda Rohrer, Lou Ann Clark, MariAnn Gies, Marilyn Long, Mary Harmon, Mary Rupe, Micheal Lowers, Nan Miller, Norene Klein, Patricia Ostrom, Richard O'Neill, Rose Wittman, Ruth Hailey, Steven Ewing, Susan Burchill, Susan Tucker, Tanya Ewing and Tim Klein.
The district also honored the Salina Teachers of the Year and the Salina Master Teacher. Tina Layton is our Elementary Teacher of the Year from Meadowlark Elementary School. Melanie Hammond is our Secondary Teacher of the Year from South High School. Melanie is also a Kansas Master Teacher.
The district presented certificates to individuals who have completed 25 years of service.
