Salina Adult Education Center's Educators Shine at Conferences

Salina Adult Education Center (SAEC) educators are not just catalysts for change within Salina, they’re sources of inspiration and expertise for fellow Kansas educators.
Staff members presented their insights and innovative approaches at the Kansas Adult Education Association Conference in February 2024. Presentations included:
  • Miranda Marshall’s Teaching Skills that Matter in English Language Learning
  • Donna Munsch’s ESL in the Community: Making the Most of Quality Measure 5
  • Kelly Mobray’s, Navigating Mental Health, Disabilities and Executive Functioning Skills for Student Success and co-presented Marketing with Canva and Expanding Community Outreach
  • Jess Picolet’s best practices for student orientations in her presentation, Create a Fairy Tale Orientation Fit for Little Red Riding Hood
At the Coalition of Adult Basic Education (COABE) National Conference in March, Kelly again shared her presentation about student success and she co-presented GED Testing Services…Helping Learners and Graduates Achieve Employability Goals.
Kelly bridged the gap between GED graduation and gainful employment. As a general session panelist for Connecting GED Grads to Job Opportunities, she spotlighted the innovative Partners 4 Success program.
The staff of SAEC are not just participants in the field of adult education, they are leaders. By sharing their knowledge with other educators they help transform lives through learning. Their contributions stretch beyond conference presentations and support success in classrooms, communities and careers.
