We are pleased to report that every USD 305 student in grades 3, 4 and 5 recently received a William Allen White book. The books were a portion of 17,000 that were ordered with special funds* to increase students’ access to books at home.
Members of the educational programs department team counted, sorted, and boxed 17,000 books. Once the books were delivered to schools, students had the opportunity to browse all the books. Media specialists coordinated the distribution in each building and worked with teachers to get the books into students’ hands. Discussion prompts were sent home with the books to encourage family conversations.
