Bridging Classroom Learning with Career Readiness, Real-World Skills, and Future Success

We’re proud to highlight our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and the opportunities they create for Salina Public Schools (SPS) students.

SPS currently offers 10 CTE pathways: Family and Consumer Services; Restaurant and Event Management; Teaching and Training; Media Design and Communications; Health Science; Construction and Design; Engineering and Applied Math; Animal Science; Agriculture Technology and Mechanical Systems and Marketing.

CTE connects classroom learning with real-world skills. Through hands-on courses and career exploration opportunities, students discover their interests, build technical expertise and gain valuable experience in high-demand fields. Whether students choose to continue their education, enter the workforce or pursue specialized training, CTE helps them build a strong foundation for the future.

And be sure to check out our recap video of the 2025 Building Bridges event!

At the 2025 Building Bridges event, community members, businesses and industry leaders joined SPS to celebrate CTE and its vital role in preparing Salina’s future workforce. Attendees saw CTE in action by connecting with students across career pathways, exploring hands-on learning opportunities and viewing student projects that showcased real-world career skills.
