The board of education approved the gifts from the South High Orchestra Booster and the South High Band Booster.

 

Elementary Phonics – Units of Study

The board of education approved the adoption and purchase of textbooks and instructional resources for Units of Study - Phonics.

 

School Board Reports

Superintendent’s Report

Linn Exline, superintendent of schools, reported that Shanna Rector, Executive Director of Educational Programs, and her team are working with teachers, grades 6-12, to develop competencies in content areas. Students mastery of these key competencies will be provided on grade reports and provide more granular reporting for student progress. Superintendent Exline reported that both the state and USD 305 teachers are supportive of this change. Superintendent Exline is a member of a state level committee developing reopening guidance. She reported that the collective guidance will be issued from the Kansas State Department of Education mid-July.
